Haivanship Facilitates Inaugural Coal Delivery at Van Phong Terminal with SHINRYO MARU
On May 11, 2023, Haivanship (HVS) successfully assisted the first-ever coal delivery to Vietnam's Van Phong Terminal. The operation involved the Japanese-flagged bulk carrier SHINRYO MARU, which berthed at the terminal in Khanh Hoa province to deliver coal for the Van Phong 1 Power Plant.

These vessels provided expert assistance in maneuvering SHINRYO MARU into position at the Van Phong BOT Terminal, ensuring a safe and efficient docking process.
Strategic Importance: The Van Phong 1 Power Plant is a 1,320 MW super-critical coal-fired facility developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis by Van Phong Power Company, a subsidiary of Japan's Sumitomo Corporation. The project is backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement with Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
Haivanship's role in this operation underscores its expertise in port operations, tugboat services, and coal logistics, contributing to the successful commencement of coal deliveries to the Van Phong 1 Power Plant.
