Haivanship Facilitates Safe Berthing of Gaschem Mosel at Long Son Petrochemicals Terminal

On August 14, 2022, Haivanship (HVS) successfully assisted the LPG tanker vessel Gaschem Mosel in safely berthing at Long Son Petrochemicals (LSP) Terminal, marking a significant milestone as the first gas tanker to call at this newly established terminal in Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Operational Details:
In line with the tugboat provider contract between Haivanship and LSP, HVS mobilized two modern Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tugboats—Sky 1 and Sky 2—to assist in the berthing operation. These tugboats, renowned for their maneuverability and power, played a crucial role in guiding the Gaschem Mosel into position at the terminal's jetty. The operation was executed with precision, ensuring the vessel was safely secured without incident.

The successful berthing of Gaschem Mosel at LSP Terminal underscores the strategic importance of the terminal in Vietnam's petrochemical industry. As the first integrated petrochemical complex in the country, LSP aims to meet the growing domestic demand for polymer resins and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's plastic industry. The terminal's capability to accommodate large LPG tankers is pivotal in supporting the import of essential feedstocks for the complex's operations.
